During this special evening of live entertainment, fantastic food, and free-flowing cocktails, we honor the legacy of two brilliant performers; Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. You’ll hear our live performers interpret the memorable tunes that have shaped the genre of jazz and elevated the music of a generation to new heights.
Most fans of American jazz and pop vocalists would agree that Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra were the undisputed musical champs of their era. In 1959 Frank Sinatra said this of Ella Fitzgerald, “She is the only performer with whom I’ve ever worked who makes me nervous. Because I try to work up to what she does. You know, try to pull myself up to that height, because I believe she is the greatest popular singer in the world, barring none—male or female.”
The feeling was mutual, and they duetted on several high-profile occasions. Fitzgerald adored Sinatra, deeply respected his talent and, given her natural humility, would never have claimed superiority.

PS UNDERGROUND returns with an encore engagement of “A Night at the Chi-Chi”. It is an homage to the fabled midcentury Chi-Chi Club. Guests will enjoy a specially created four-course dining adventure. Midcentury Palm Springs boasted a variety of elegant supper clubs, including the Racquet Club, the Doll’s House, Ruby’s Dunes and the Purple Room, but the infamous Chi-Chi Club outshone them all. Its Blue Room seated 250 for dinner and the larger Starlight Ballroom accommodated up to 750. Opening in 1947 with Desi Arnaz and his 14-piece orchestra headlining, the Starlight Room quickly became the place to perform and be seen.
On this special occasion, you will step back in time and get a glimpse of the stars who graced its stage, including tributes to Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne and Louis Armstrong.
The menu will unfold as the evening progresses. PS UNDERGROUND'S renowned chef, Dave Horgen has been tantalizing diners in the desert for years with his unique approach to food. Using his heritage as a jumping-off point, self-described Italian-American Gilmore Rizzo combines his cultural identity, songs from his youth, stories about his family, the recipes they treasured, and his heartfelt memories to concoct a delicious evening of international entertainment.
‘That's Amoré’ is woven with a thread of popular and novelty American-Italian songs made famous by Dean Martin, Perry Como, Connie Francis, Lou Monte, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Vale, Louie Prima, Annette Funicello, and more. Joining Rizzo at the table are his “THREE GOOMBAHS”, an Italian-Greek chorus of sentimental musical muses. Her iconic voice and sound helped shape the music of the 1970s and 1980s, and she is celebrated for her ability to adapt to a diverse range of musical styles, including country, rock, jazz and Spanish-language classics.
Now, lauded cabaret singer Francesca Amari pays tribute to the vast music catalog of Linda Ronstadt in her new show, “Different Drum: The Music of Linda Ronstadt” and it will knock your socks off. “Amari is in a league of her own when it comes to the art form (of cabaret) and she tells Linda’s story with panache, wit, reverence and reverie.
